Rush Players earn High School Honors
|
Arkansas Rush players had a huge impact on their respective high schools teams this spring. Rush players helped their teams win key games, conference titles, playoff victories and state championships. Our players, young and old, stepped up and produced on the high school stage. |

Between the months of February and May, most all Arkansas high school age players take a break from their club teams and represent their various high schools around the state. Arkansas Rush players attend high schools of all sizes from the smallest classification of 4A to the largest of 7A. With club teammates battling it out against each other, high school soccer games always have a level of intensity both on and off the pitch. Parents who have become accustom to cheering on club teammates have to draw the lines in the heated high school battles. Teammates who have pushed each other on the training grounds now go head to head on the field. “The players absolutely love playing against each other in high school. It makes for great games and some very interesting practices when they return to the club in mid May”, states Matthew Mittelstaedt, Technical Director for Arkansas Rush. |

After an action packed season and many well played games, the season came to a close on championship weekend, May 18-19, 2012. Arkansas Rush had at least one player in every championship match except two. With the end of the high school season, the awards are announced and Rush players earned many team, conference and state awards. |

|
The All-State selection is the highest honor for high school soccer players and Arkansas Rush had 30 players earning All-State honors. Four Rush players (Marin Carter 7A Conway, Chris Holmes 7A Catholic, Garrett Miller 5A Nettleton, and Autumn Ward 4A Valley View) earned All-State honors as freshmen players. Both Marin Carter and Chris Holmes also helped lead their teams to 7A conference championship titles and were finalists in the state championship game. |
