Developmental Overview

DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Arkansas Rush Developmental (Level 2) program emphasizes fun for all participants, age appropriate skill development of players, formation of balanced teams and training for coaches and referees.  The league conducts background checks on all adult volunteers.  Every player is guaranteed 50% playing time in each game and referees explain rules and allow second chances for younger age groups.  Players U13 to U18 are eligible to play in our Developmental division.

Developmental teams are formed in the late summer and teams play in both the Fall and Spring seasons.  Players do not tryout for these teams.  Teams are created randomly using the pool of players registered in each specific age group before late registration period in August.  New players may be added In the Spring season to existing teams with openings or, if enough players register in an age group, a new team may be formed.

The Fall season begins in late August and runs through October/early November. The Spring season starts in mid-February and runs through April/early May. Developmental teams usually practice twice a week and play their games on Saturday. Occasionally, they will play a Sunday afternoon or Friday night game. 

Practices for Conway based teams are held at Centennial Park. Jonesboro based teams practice at Joe Mack Campbell Park  Teams generally schedule four home games at Centennial Park and four away games played within a 45 minute radius of Conway.  Some teams elect to play in tournaments, usually in the Central Arkansas area.  Practice and game schedules are at the discretion of the team's coach.  Developmental Coaches are parent volunteers who are supervised by our Technical Director, Matt Mittelstaedt

U13-U18 teams typically play 11v11 however if numbers so not allow there is now a 7v7 league.

This cost to play in the Developmental Program is $90 per season. This fee includes field maintenance and rental fees, Rush player fees, referee fees, league fees, insurance and state/national registration fees.
